It’s no secret that among the 200 million
monthly active Pinners, the platform is highly influential in their purchase
process.
A study released by Pinterest in 2016 showed that some 93% of
Pinners use the platform to plan for or make purchases, while 52% have seen
something on Pinterest and made a subsequent purchase online. And as identified
in the Mary Meeker Internet Trends report, Pinterest is much better at driving
purchase intent than other social platforms.
To investigate this further,
Pinterest recently conducted a study of more than 4, 000 weekly Pinners about
their shopping habits.
Among their key findings:
90% of weekly
Pinners use Pinterest to make purchase decisions
59% use Pinterest to find
out more about their purchases
78% of Pinners say content from brands on the
platform is helpful
They’ve collected their findings into this new
infographic. There’s a heap of key insights here – if you’ve not considered the
potential of Pinterest for your business previously, maybe now is the
time.
